Surprise Gift? Any takers?

Here’s to hoping my blog lurking hubby reads this.
I have a desire to receive flowers on my birthday, even as a post birthday gift. To make it seem like a surprise, I would love for them to be delivered by mail.

My love for pink or pinkish red is a secret I keep from people to prevent them from exploiting my weakness. As such, these lovely, beautifully arranged pink tulips from an online florist are stuff that can be used to gain my favor. Reasonably priced, as I dread to receive too expensive stuff, these flowers can do wonders to my stress-ridden body and I can put the petals on my bath so I’ll smell exactly like I always imagined: like a nymph bathing in a river of flowers

Sinfully pink stuff are a lot like red but differ from it in that pink aptly describes my nurturing nature beneath the passionate one. If the color red can blush, it will look exactly like this shade of pink.

I spent my whole life being practical and pragmatic. But once a year I’d love to be pampered by impractical stuff. Is it too much for a mom who chose to live her life nurturing a family instead of a corporate or a medical career to ask for a bunch of tulips on her birthday?

Hint hint hint….

The Duckie Minions: Splashing Other Kids

Remember how I told the story of our hero (my son) beating an army of duckies on a pail boat? Well, those duckies have more clout than we thought. They enlisted an army of ‘evil splashers’, other kids who hang out in pools and splash water heroes like AJ.

We went to a swimming resort and the evil splashers’ agenda came into play. As soon as our hero entered the pool, the kids were splashing… sending AJ back into my arms crying. In fact he was that way for the rest of the trip. Scared and panicky because of how mercilessly these other kids splashed him.

Here’s a snapshot of our hero plotting his revenge.

Wait ’til I get on my turf. These minions won’t stand a chance”

Thinking of Self-Employment

So how do the really self employed people do it? They think of a lucrative venture, develop their own product, buy a franchise, start a new marketing scheme, join showbiz.. what else? I’m thinking of how they outdo the set 500-1k USD that constantly comes monthly via an office job. With a quality product, preferably one that adds an innovative touch to an already popular product, is it possible to sell and promote it so that it sustains daily living?

I know how small groceries work, that they mark up each product’s price a bit so that they earn a lot when they sell in bulk. I’m already at the ‘earning’ analysis part, but I know I have to study the investment part first. I know about loans and the offers of Small Business Financing. So the concept seems to work this way: use borrowed money from a reputable Business Loans provider to fund for the initial expenses, break even as soon as possible and pay the loaned amount, and then use the profits as capital.

How about hidden costs? Maybe some unforeseen event happened, or supplies are getting sold out faster than expected. A contingency measure in the form of Business Cash Advance is in order. Considering that the product actually sells, a cash advance is still manageable if it stays on top of the other priorities in terms of payment ASAP.

Work at home moms have a lot to think about. So many issues about home business. But it’s all worth it eh? With a small child hopeful for a new toy, it is definitely worth it.

The Trouble Table

The table that’s supposed to be for training our kid to eat and study has been owned!

It now serves as a display place for his cars. AJ lines them up nice and rearranges them when he feels like it. When bored, he goes under it and bumps his head upwards or knocks ’til some toys fall off. We got in a panic earlier when he did this the first time. We were looking all over for him and he sat crouched beneath his table … very quietly preparing for the big “Ta-DAAA!!!” I was screaming “Where are youuuu” before I thought of looking beneath the table.

He laughed his ass silly at my reaction. I spanked him playfully but am very relieved that he’s ok.

Choosing An Alternative Health-related Course

We all know how it’s March and at least hundreds of thousand Filipinos have graduated from college or high school. We now have more skilled workers to fill the companies, more resumes printed, more applicant lines forming in streets around big companies. It’s recruitment time and new graduates are scrambling to jumpstart their careers.

And high school students, the good and industrious ones, are now having the time of their lives choosing among the various college course options, hoping that their choices will bring their families good fortune someday.

The euphoria is still high and the proud parents are on a roll writing graduation checks and such. High school students who still don’t know what to take up in college should look into the x-ray technician career as another option among the health related careers available today.

With the establishment of hospitals worldwide and the never ending fight against disease and their evolved forms, diagnostics clinics will surely be needing more people with x-ray technician backgrounds. This is also not a bad idea for technology inclined individuals who want a career that will enable them to go abroad but do not want to take up other health related careers. A lot of dexterity and a keen eye is needed for the x-ray technician job, but competition is still relatively low compared to the more popular health courses.
