The Bouncing Baby Boy

Recently, our baby… no scratch that… our fast-growing boy has discovered new things to do on our sofa. Rolling and Bouncing.

Sometimes he’d bounce when we’re not looking, and when caught, acts like he’s so innocently just watching tv, sitting with his hands folded on his lap. Then, when he feels like we’re preoccupied with other things, he pushes his luck again.

The first bounces look like innocent adjustments in seating position. He finds a way to make it seem like he just “accidentally” bounced off the sofa. And, he’s even the first one to say “tsk tsk” whenever he bounced too far, like he’s scolding himself before we could even begin to scold him. It’s exasperating, but it’s cute.

He knows it’s prohibited to bounce on a leather sofa because the leather might crack, and that’s the end of the upholstery. I lived with siblings during my childhood and I know how unattractive duct tape is on a leather sofa.

Bouncing baby boy has another meaning for me and hubby now.

Oh my, climbing… I’m getting anxious just reading the word. I think he’s started though, but he does it when he thinks I’m not looking… as always!
