The Bus Ride to the Province and Back
We (I, AJ and our new nanny, Kat) traveled to the province to celebrate Valentine’s at my parents’ house. My sis is having a Valentine’s party and we wanted to join in the fun.
We took the bus going there and going back. My son was very game about the whole thing. He loves cars and spent most of the time in the bus watching the traffic outside the window. When he got bored with that, he stood on my lap to watch television. We took a first-class aircon bus and there were amenities like aircon, soft seats and tv. I couldn’t help but think that maybe the one who designed the bus was a woman because comfort was the most obvious driving factor for the design.
Nonetheless, it was still cramped and we slept and ate sitting there with our bags (and a very naughty baby boy who wanted to run up and down the aisle while the bus was moving).
You’d think that because the Philippines is a small country, going around was fast? Wrong. Our lanes are very narrow and the expressway was limited to only a few provinces. We had to deal with traffic and such, but the trip was worth it. My parents got to spoil my baby a little bit more, his nanny saw our home town, and I got to sleep!
