Woobies
Were there toys that you cannot live without as a child? Toys that you need to be close to you, for you to fall asleep? I can’t remember mine, but AJ’s is definitely his toy car.
I just recently learned that these things are termed “woobies“, to my delight. Like security blankets that you need to see or hold all the time, they give comfort.
My best friend used to have a blankie as her woobie. She told me she won’t let anyone touch it and will go into tantrums when it changes smell (read: her parents washed it!)
My son insists on bringing his toys to the bathroom when he has his bath. Most of the trouble I had when bathing him was his submerging the toys in water ’til he’s almost in the water himself, prompting me to shout ‘NO’ again.
Im planning to keep my baby’s woobies preserved so that he will get reminded of them when he’s older. The only question is, will his woobies survive his childhood? He throws them often and they lose tires and bumpers. Maybe i’ll just keep photos then eh?
