Childhood Photos You Don’t Show Your Friends
Everyone has that certain childhood photo that he/she will never show his/her future friends. Mine’s that photo of me dancing the hula with 12 more children my age during a kindergarten presentation. Why was it a fad to dress kids up in Hawaiian get-ups during the 80’s? Adults then found it cute, and in the Philippines, every single dance recital included at least one hula number.
One other thing. It wasn’t enough for the adults during my time to dress us up in multicolored tops and straw skirts, they even let our teachers apply our make-up! I am not generalizing, but I noticed that the kindergarten teachers, with 20 or so pupils to attend to before the performance, made it a point to apply cheek make up in a circular manner. The result of which is that red, red circle on a kid’s cheek … caught on photo.
And our families loved it! They clapped and snapped photos and cheered while the poor kids were forced to dance the hula while the eerie lyrics of “Pearly Shells” or “Close to You” filled the stage.
Anyway, this photo here is that of my son wearing a blue headband during Christmas last year. He looks soooo cute!!! Like Santa’s elf who always forgot to put on his Christmas cap and was punished by wearing a mock Christmas cap attached to a girl’s headband.
LOL. Wait ’til his future girlfriend sees this!

why do parents punish their kids? lols! like one time, we had my son wear female dresses and make-up and took a picture of it. when he grew up and becomes gay, he would definitely blame me for it. wahahah!

hehe… I disagree! If he turns gay and sees that photo, he will think that you are the most supportive dad in the world! LOL

When company comes over the wife likes to show off our picture wall, several pictures of us and our families. I cringe when they come to the pictures of me, 1977 wearing tights and dressed as Robin hood for the Queen’s silver jubilee celebration.
Then there is the one of m as a baby naked after a bath!
